while testing MBAM due to a reported issue
On a default x64 build - there are 113 NLS files copied into Syswow64 and only 3 NLS into system32...
I can safely delete all the .NLS files in Syswow64 with no seemly ill effect on x64 Build...
but I do require these .NLS files in System32 (1252 not a requirement for me)
All these system32 NLS files are blocked from deletion and MBAM launches without error
//--Kyhi MBAM EN-US test good require sys32 files

The Windows 10 service responsible for collecting data and error information has been renamed in Threshold 2,
but given the fact that Microsoft hasn't publicly announced the change,
some are tempted to believe that the company has actually removed it completely.
Basically, the original name of the service in Windows 10 was Diagnostics Tracking Service (DiagTrack),
and privacy-obsessed users who wanted to block any type of data from being sent to Microsoft disabled it completely.
In fact, applications whose purpose was to block Windows 10 from phoning home also disabled this service,
as it was one of the main ways for Microsoft to get bug and crash information from computers running the new OS.
So when Threshold 2 was released and the service was no longer there,
many believed that Microsoft changed its mind and decided not to collect information from users' computers anymore.
But the process actually uses a different name, so it's still there, only that it's harder to find.
The service is now called Connected User Experiences and Telemetry,
and it's still enabled by default, but as far as the reasons for this name change are concerned, little is known at this point.
On the bright side, you can still disable it if you wish with just a few clicks.
First of all, type services.msc in the Start menu, hit the Enter key,
look for the Connected User Experiences and Telemetry service,
double-click it, hit the stop button, and then change the Startup Type setting to disabled.

M$ released a preview of 10565 to ISO
the last ISO released was 10240https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso
Threshold 2, the first big official upgrade to Windows 10 since its July 29 launch, is on schedule for arrival next month. Members of the Windows Insider program have been testing previews of the new builds for the past month, and the latest Threshold 2 preview release, build 10565, contains a welcome change.
Effective with this new build, you can do a clean install of Windows 10 using a product key for a corresponding edition of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 on that device. DO NOT USE FOR WIN10PE BUILDS - SOMETHING CHANGED - BOOTS TO A BLACK SCREEN AND CURSOR W/FLASHING HOURGLASS

So I am missing something

With your help I was able to restore win 8.1 OEM and finally upgrade to win10!
I was able to use reagentc /setosimage directly from win 10 and then build the win8.1 recovery usb
It has been said by MS that /setosimage was deprecated in Windows 10, But it does not appear to be the actual case..
Windows 10 does not use a factory recovery image per say - it uses the component store (winsxs) and a provisioning package to reset Windows 10...
But it appears that Reagentc can still be used to direct Win10 recovery to use a factory install.wim
If your Host OS is Windows 10
You run reagentc /setosimage > pointing to the factory windows 8.1 recovery image
You create a recovery drive from within the Host Windows 10 OS
you boot from the recovery drive
and RESET Windows 8.1

As many of you know MS is requiring you to UPGRADE a qualifying OS (Win7 or Win8.1) in order to activate Windows 10..
And for those that would rather CLEAN install Windows 10 to another partition, drive or vhd - Win10 OS will not activate unless it is installed over a prior qualifying OS..
Well, until now that is, here is what is needed to CLEAN install Win10 and have it see a prior qualifying OS
Within the Win10 setup media is a file "\sources\gatherosstate.exe"
Copy "gatherosstate.exe" to the desktop of your qualifying OS
RightClick "gatherosstate.exe" and run as admin
"gatherosstate.exe" creates a "GenuineTicket.xml" file
Now you can Clean Install Win10 to disk or partition
or Apply the Win10 install.wim to VHD
NOTE: With Windows 10 as an Upgrade, Do not enter any product key when asked, just skip over the request..
Once Win10 is installed or applied
Copy "GenuineTicket.xml" into "\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\ClipSVC\GenuineTicket"
so you end up with "\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\ClipSVC\GenuineTicket\GenuineTicket.xml"
You just Clean installed Win10 and Upgraded your Qualifying OS without actually upgrading the prior OS
In my case > Created 50GB VHD > Applied Win10 to VHD > Copied "GenuineTicket.xml" = Activated Win10 VHDSource

with the recent addition of Win10PE I have an new problem with network
Using latest server download for both projects - I lost network on 8.1SE but gained network on 10PE
Before network worked OK on 8.1SE and had to integrate Intel 7260 drivers into 10PE..
Which has since switched 10PE ok, 8.1SE have to integrate Intel 7260 drivers..
here are the other known Intel 7260 drivers x64 for 8.1SE - maybe no longer included in net drivers..
as this is not included in x64 win8.1 media > netwbw02.inf
