Development and code snippets / Driver BackUp
« on: September 05, 2017, 01:56:07 PM »
Hey You, yea you, Quit lurking and join us! The process is easy and totally pain free.

Driver Export or BackUp call it what you want it's all the same thing.
Last project was all about PE, this time something similar but all about Windows

This will be a whole new process with NO dependencies on other programs like DISM or Double Driver!
I am running Windows 7 on an 8 year old GateWay But should be compatible with everything Vista and Up.
For me to know how to proceed I need Your FeedBack so Please Reply!

Without your feed back I have so many options here I don't know what to do next.
Give me some input, reply until then I can't and won't develop this further.
I leave you with this, I think it's faster than dism and double driver combined.
Saves selected 3rd party drivers to C:\driverbackup

Research and questions / Total Driver Manager!
« on: September 01, 2017, 03:05:05 AM »
This will be my next project looking for the perfect name.
Basically a portable version of driver export import with a few more features

What I would like to share and test first will be a new driver backup process.
I know I tested this before earlier in driver export import development.
The function I used to Import Driver Packs, any time I went near Windows driverstore dir
the program would CRASH. I assumed it was too much for the array to handle.
I tried again now that program is finished and stable and It Does WORK.

I successfully exported/backed up all system drivers from the driver store directory (nearly 3 gb).
It would be fairly easy to block all microsoft provided drivers and get third party only.
In XP I believe it was the driver folder in everything after driverstore

Will start on it after the labor day weekend.
Looking for Ideas, Advice on driver pack management,
other than organizing moving and deleting driver packs

First I will want to test this new driver backup process in all version of Windows.
How much can it take before it crashes! This could be big a new driver export/backup
process that has no dependencies on other programs.

Please Opinions advice

Plugins / Driver Export Import
« on: August 20, 2017, 02:10:28 AM »

Working on a new process for driver export/backup. It's much faster and I want to use it instead of Double Driver.
Compatible with all versions Vista and up. Need more thorough testing and a little input from every one so I
can finish development. Driver Backup/Export

Goal is to make the task of managing all your driver needs a simple one.
Easily Export from Online Host to PE project for integration
or save to My_Drivers To install in PE later.
Easily Organize and manage all your driver packs.

In PE weather installing Integrated or install from driver pack I think I've included everything.
All the old familiar tools should be there in one interface.
I hope it's everything you need and more.
I saved all the long winded explanations and instructions in a read me file.

PC plugin pay attention to settings for Integration, Driver_Packs or My_Devices.

PE plugin Don't change default DriverTmp location unless necessary.
Driver Profile must be set at Build Time
New added Auto_Install_Wizard
By all means Integrate Network driver packs
Important for PE Network to find first at boot time
Beyond that would you like to have
Total control over how, what, when and where drivers are installed!
Auto_Install_Wizard is the solution
Please read the text file should explain every thing
Extract all 4 plugins to %Projects%\drivers
Launch Driver Export Import and  gather your drivers
Make sure all tools in driver category are checked and Build away!

Development and code snippets / Device Installer
« on: August 16, 2017, 05:18:49 AM »
Plugin finished get it here

This finishes off the mess I'm working on here.

Same tools HWPnP PnPUtil same cmd lines already being used.
This puts everything in one place for installing integrated drivers.
You'll see the stuff on the right mostly dealing with basic display install
Is it really necessary or would that space best be used for something else.
Any Suggestions

Questions and Support / Driver Export_Import
« on: April 03, 2017, 01:10:02 AM »
Total System Meltdown! I lost everything except my most recent projects.
I recovered all my Easy_DISM files and this.......

Plugin complete ready for download

Export drivers from Host, any online or offline image or mounted VHD
There are 2 parts to the program
At build time drivers can be Imported to PE Build for Integration or Saved for use later in PE
The Online PE program should be a total driver Export, Import, Install solution and more.

Everything revolves around a config file created during Driver Export Import
The idea came from Double Drivers Restore.ini, I copied their layout and added driver arch.
This Restore.ini makes future driver installation and management an easy task.

[Called_Launch_Program] Can be launched from another plugin.
If you need to Modify, update, merge the plugins be my guest
I think I do better with Autoit than with plugins, neither comes easy!

Somebody give me a thumbs up and I'll post this where ever it belongs!

Double Driver: Works fine export from online Host. For offline or PE must call with runscanner (done that).
Reads registry and only exports currently in use most recently installed drivers.
DISM exports every third party driver ever installed.

Prior to build when you start gathering your drivers
pay attention to settings for My Drivers or Integration

In PE look bottom left settings for Driver Temp location (deleted upon completion)
X; works but that's your booted image, choose a writeable disk.

This should make everything easy just place both plugins %Projects%\drivers.

Development and code snippets / Driver Export DISM for PE Integration
« on: March 17, 2017, 04:20:52 PM »
To all concerned with Driver Integration Plugin.
Driver Export DISM for integration into your PE Build
This started out to be a simple helper for DISM Export Driver process but I had to go all the way!
Export Drivers with DISM or Double Driver from online Host or any other Hard Drive partition or attached VHD.
List View will popup showing driver Class, Provider, Date, Version and arch select your drivers and click save.

Extract Driver Export and ini to workbench\common and DISM 10 path for Windows 7  @ScriptDir\GetWaikTools\ADK_6. YES driver export dism works in windows 7 but you must use DISM 10. Double Driver @ScriptDir\Double Driver\ddc.exe. DriverTemp work folder is deleted after each process completes and default save folder @ScriptDir\Drivers_arch. DISM path for Win 7 @ScriptDir\GetWaikTools\ADK_6\Arch\DISM\Dism.exe Win 8 8.1 and 10 @SystemDir.

Extract Driver_Export_Import.exe and Driver_Export_Settings.ini to workbench\common and run !
Driver Integration Plugin Leave integration folder set to default %GlobalTemplates%\Drivers_x86\
and %GlobalTemplates%\Drivers_x64\
Fixed a couple bugs and added manage driver integration folder (see reply 9)

In 8.1 SE Set Antivirus to Run from Ram (Program Files) and It seems to merge completely.
7 SE or Run from Normal After starting Security Essentials click Turn on Button to activate.
Set MSEDownloader plugin to Run from Normal (Programs)
Target Dir Programs\MSEDownloader any other location and Updates lost after reboot

Questions and Support / MSE antivirus Running on PE
« on: July 11, 2015, 12:02:02 PM »
I've got Microsoft Security Essentials Running on Win7PE SE 32 bit with real time protection.
Files gathered from local install, the only way I could get it to work.
Virus definitions will update but will not hold after reboot but I have got a manual work around.
I'm just about ready and would like to post it in the Plugin thread as a Beta Test.
Let some one test it on Win8PE while I start working on 64 Bit plugin.
If you're interested give me a hell yea!

Plugins / VLC Media Player
« on: July 08, 2015, 01:06:38 AM »
VLC media player
VLC is free and open source and plays most multimedia files as well as DVDs, Audio CDs.

Imports files from Local install so if you've tweaked your players skins addons etc...
I've got most of the file association worked out, having problems with right click menu play CD/DVD.
Open the disk and it will play .cda and .vob files. Works fine as is but room for improvement.
Intend to add switches of some sort to choose file association but for now all media files asociated.
Test, report bugs, suggest, help!

Questions and Support / Problem with %CDDRIVE%
« on: July 06, 2015, 08:18:29 PM »
Have been gone for a year, extremely dense cataracts left me nearly blind.
Last eye surgery was in March, I can see again!

I was updating my DISM Gui script, has to be run from root of system drive.
Get waik tool download directory structure changed and a few minor changes to dism gui.

Mind you everything worked perfect in Win7PE_SE_2014-02-03 build but in Win7PE_SE_2015-02-20 I had problem.
Build runs with no errors, shortcuts created OK but click on a shortcut and get error.
Windows searching for Dism6 click browse to locate. (Program name is Dism6.2_Gui.exe not Dism6)
Removed all extra "."  from file and folder name and %CDDRIVE% works fine.
New folder name Dism6-2 (not Dism6.2)
New file name Dism6-2Gui.exe (not Dism6.2_Gui.exe)

Something has changed in %CDDRIVE% macro will not allow any extra "." in file path.

Plugins / Dism6.1_Gui (Win 7)
« on: April 10, 2014, 03:26:12 AM »
This program is of my own making. If you'd like more info
Dism6.1_Gui should be compatible with all versions of Windows and PE.
Automatic download of dism.exe thanks to JFX and the fantastic GetWaikTools.
To build with Gena you need to manually place GetWaikTools.script in Projects\Gena\Utils.
(Untill I can come up with a better way to link to the GetWaikTools.script)

This will probably be the final version of this program.
I am focusing my attention on Dism6.2_Gui (Win 8) has many more functions available.
It will have the same compatibility with all versions of Windows and PE.
I will post the plugin as soon as I complete the capture tab.

Even under Windows WILL NOT run from Program Files Dir

Questions and Support / Gimagex
« on: March 18, 2014, 11:51:21 PM »
Great tool for some one like me who can't type worth a crap and avoids command console at every cost.
Just curious why nobody ever made a plugin for Win7PE, I know it was included with Gena.
Made one for myself a long time ago, everything needed can be found in projects\tools after first run.
I just copied everything I needed from there, nothing I could redistribute as a working plugin.
I might try making a plugin for Win7PE that could be used.

Another question, has anyone in the autoit community attempted a GUI for dism.
Only thing I found was here:
Uses .Net, haven't tried it yet, besides I'd like to see one written in autoit script.

Are there any restrictions with either to worry about.
Man I'm just full of dumb questions.

Questions and Support / FileCopy and wildcards
« on: March 18, 2014, 08:13:08 PM »
Wanted to add Gimp Portable to PE for my nephew, I have no need for it in PE.
I found a plugin by Lancelot, but when I ran it stalled halfway thru the file copy process and wouldn't finish.
I started over from the begining with a plugin of my own, but the same thing happened.
I changed this line - FileCopy,%GlobalTemplates%\%ProgramFolder%\*,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%
to - DirCopy,%GlobalTemplates%\%ProgramFolder%,%Target_Prog% and success.

I know FileCopy with * works, Ive used it before.
The only thing I could figure is the folder structure. to many directories and subdirectories.
No big deal but I'd just like to know if I figured right.

Questions and Support / Driver Import & Management needs testing
« on: March 16, 2014, 08:18:38 AM »
What I'm going for here is all driver management needs in one program.
Driver import, driver pack install, driver management etc all in one location.
I'm starting to get a good basic understanding of AutoIt and this has turned into a pretty massive script.
In all my trials and testing I've made a few discoveries.Double Driver works better with runscanner
and dpinst won't work with runscanner at all. In 64 bit runscanner is located in wow64 folder.
Early in my script I call Double Driver with runscanner then later when I call Dpinst it can't find it.
I think this was due to runscanner redirecting the program to wow64 then it can't find Dpinst.
I included runscanner in my program folder and solved the problem.

What I need is a little input, what needs changed what could I add. I don't always word things just right but
I think I did pretty good. Added a lot of tool tips, hover mouse over different options you'll see what I mean.
Added a new process for Importing all drivers from host, GUI interface list all available drives, dropdown list
for drive selection and redirects dpinst to selected Windows installation and last popup msgbox gives OS version and arch.

I've included everything you need for testing, will run as portable program from any where.
Like I said what I want is a little input, how could I word things better what should I add etc.
I could dress up the GUI a little but I'm more worried about function. I need a good name for the program too.
I could upload the script too if any of you geniuses want to look it over.

Questions and Support / AutoIt3
« on: February 26, 2014, 05:54:00 PM »
Trying to make a plugin for AutoIt v3.3.6.1, don't know which version is included in win7pe but it throws constant errors.
This is the version I'm now using because I was having to many problems with current v3.3.10.2.
I've added the entire AutoIt folder with the full version of SciTE from my OS to my PE and both work fine on my PE build.
It's nice to be able compile exe and test my scripts inside PE.

Right now I,m trying to add file associations and right click context menu. I've searched the forum and unable to find
any reference material. Been looking over some of the other scripts but kinda hard to figure out.
If any one could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
