M$ released a preview of 10565 to ISO
the last ISO released was 10240

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso

C/P
Threshold 2, the first big official upgrade to Windows 10 since its July 29 launch, is on schedule for arrival next month. Members of the Windows Insider program have been testing previews of the new builds for the past month, and the latest Threshold 2 preview release, build 10565, contains a welcome change.

Effective with this new build, you can do a clean install of Windows 10 using a product key for a corresponding edition of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 on that device.

DO NOT USE FOR WIN10PE BUILDS - SOMETHING CHANGED - BOOTS TO A BLACK SCREEN AND CURSOR W/FLASHING HOURGLASS

Win10PESE is now compatible with Windows 10 Threshold 2 build 10565
Not sure I'll try to follow the future release. I did here but it will be hard to follow

With 10565, the desktop window manager dwm.exe does not work for now and the theme also. However, keep the themes plugin for building.
The theme is a bonus, not essential. We can live without, Win10SE remains operational.

I also noted that Pin (Pintool, pecmd PINT) does not work, seems disabled, with Threshold1, Threshold2

Well ChrisR, very good work to show you can do it...

But I'm not sure 10565 is worth your precious time. It seems there's already a 10568 leak now, with less bugs then 10565. And maybe (probably) there will be more in the weeks to come.
Kyhi, have you found anything "useful" that's new in 10565?
The only thing I noticed was that my trusty old PDFCreator 1.0.0 hangs during setup. Too bad, because I don't like newer PDFCreator versions, and 1.0.0 has always worked in every OS (and w10 preview) I tested it on. Must be a bug in 10565, maybe it's fixed in later versions.
Sure, I know there are plenty of alternatives (also have DoPDF installed in every system, just as backup), and w10 even has a built-in PDF printer, but it's just the principle of the matter

Still, very good work, ChrisR, this proves you can take on any challenge MS throws at you!!

Other then Visual aspects, no..
But hopefully a lot of the bsod reports will go down in the forums..
Win8.1 is still my OS > win10 retail and preview are in VHD's = not ready to commit fully to 10 yet..

Microsoft has signed off build 10586 as the 'Fall Update' for desktop and mobile

Following weeks of speculation and estimates regarding when the Threshold 2 update would be finalized - reports are now coming in that Microsoft has signed off on Build 10586 as the 'Fall Update' for both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

Threshold 2 represents the first official feature update to Windows 10 since its launch this July.. This means all users of Windows 10 will, in the coming weeks, wake up to a new update containing a variety of new features and enhancements.

Rumors have also pointed to a new media creation tool - something even Insiders haven't seen yet - so that will also be something to look forward to.

Not convinced that 10586 is the final TH2 build. The install.wim in the esd file downloaded from windows update still contains technical preview in the description. Could be that MS screwed up or the are going to rebuild the install.wim files for the final release.

I guess even Microsoft doesn't even know what they're doing anymore, these days.
I have tested 10586 this weekend, and actually like it. It seems final or "almost final" to me, it's not timebombed and there is no watermark.

One thing I like is we can finally get rid of the white title bars:
Code: [Select]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]
"ColorPrevalence"=dword:00000001

Well, whoopteedoo, finally for me this is starting to look like Windows 7.1... (or 6.9, that's a matter of taste).

Also, my PDFCreator 1.0.0 works again (was broken in 10565, setup was stalling).

Microsoft has been testing several new improvements with the Insider Program, and now that most of them have proved to be stable enough for prime time, the company is shipping them to computers running RTM as well.

This rollout will take place via Windows Update, so tomorrow, in addition to the usual security updates that Microsoft releases every Patch Tuesday, you should also see another big update comprising several exciting changes.

Not really a good news for Win10PESE that is not currently compatible with windows 10 version 15586 | 1511
It will be difficult to follow with all the changes from one version to another.

For now it is better to stay with the original Windows 10 RTM 10.0.10240.16386
and to avoid trouble, issues, I added a check on the version number.
Only version 10.0.10240.16386 is allowed currently.
For dev and test, we need to comment in image configuration and PreConfig:
Code: [Select]
[Win10RTMNotFound]
//Message,"#1 detected. Your Windows 10 source version is not supported !!!....
//Halt,"#1 detected...

For those who do not have this build, the version remains available (for now) on the Ms evaluation center:
by choosing LTSB, the Long Term Servicing Branch for the Windows 10 Enterprise evaluations 90 days.

With updates on server, Win10PESE is now compatible with windows 10 November update 1511 build 10586.
Thanks to JFX for new dependencies and for the new Pintool v1.2.5 (previous PIN process no longer works in this release) :great:
Note that the Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe) -> theme support does not work currently but Win10PE can run without.
I also noticed a delay at startup between the desktop display and the active taskbar, RunOnce>PENetwork,...

It now seems (and has been confirmed) (at least for the time being)
That MS has pulled the 10586 update/upgrade from all 3 sources..
Media Creation Tool
Techbench
Windows Update

Here is what MS are saying:

The November update was originally available via the MCT (Media Creation Tool), but the company decided that future installs should be through Windows Update. People can still download Windows 10 [Build 10240] using the MCT tool if they wish. The November update will be delivered via Windows Update.

Microsoft has not pulled the Windows 10 November 10 update. The company is rolling out the November update over time – if you don’t see it in Windows Update, you will see it soon.
