I have been learning about using Winbuilder to make Win10 PE projects and it has been pretty straightforward. However I do have a couple questions.

With the Y drive we have the ability to simply add apps to the programs folder on a USB. I outside of the PE I added a few super portable apps, such as Hardware Monitor, Rufus, and more. I understand that there is a script that runs ppAppsGenPE.exe to build the menu based on the folder. However these apps do not show up. I have checked these forums and others to see what needs to be done to get this to work, there is so much information that I feel I am missing something. I have also checked Winbuilder itself and I know there are several Portable sections that do stuff, but I am not sure which one will do what I want which would be to autoscan the y drive apps folder for new apps.

If that is not something that can be done, which one of the Winbuilder scripts can I point to a folder with portable apps for the srcript to add to the poject. I tried PortableAppsinPE which does scan a folder, but it puts it in the WIM file itself in the Windows folder.

Sorry that this is so long. Thanks!nks!

which would be to autoscan the y drive apps folder for new apps.

There is no such option with autoscan for new apps. Nobody yet contributed such thing.
(exception ppAppsgen maybe does, I do not know that plugin well)
You can only update the ones you already added with those plugins.

You can create such option with your way , and share with all.

*
Apps\System Tools\"Portable Finder CMD" plugin
is a very general way, where you can do very freely the way you like.
ex: you can create shortcuts on "Desktop\ShoshiY" following blabla.exe.Shoshi flag file on subfolders of your portable folder.....

*
Apps\Portable\"Search Pstart"
not automatic (not autoscan) besides very straightforward and simple.
when you add new application, you can add to your Pstart menu yourself, and when you boot PE, Pstart works with new additions.

Hi Prz42,

version - filename mismatch with your plugin.

Since you do not only update but make many changes inside plugin,
Till ChrisR decide to put your changes to plugin on server,
better you change plugin:

Title=PortableApps.com Prz42
PortableApps_Prz42.script

and hide du buttons.
