After booting the USB into Win10PESE Y drive is read only.
Is this a normal operation? I used the Copy to USB-Device in Write Media.
Any help would be appreciated.

if there is "..SE.iso" inside your USB device ????? it is normal...

check your Y: drive via Device Manager to see if it is real device or mounted .iso

Hi Prz42,

your pictures does not give any information:

*
first picture:
*
drive letter is F: , not Y: as you wrote on your post.

After booting the USB into Win10PESE Y drive is read only.

this does not fit what you report

*
picture only shows there is no .iso

*
picture does not show any evidence drive is ready only

second picture:
*
does not show which driver control drive letter f: on your first picture
which should be y: following your first topic post

+
only it seems usb3 driver not installed or there is a usb device that does not work (ex: mmc/sd slot)

**:
shortly, pictures does not help or fit what you ask on your first post.

*
only idea only following first post without feedback:
check registry settings that would result usb read only,
my memory says there should be 2 or 3 that would effect usb,
available on plugins around (I do not remember which plugins where and no time...),
     check google.....

******
I leave Further support to others, whoever interested.

one more idea:

if your usb stick is read-only on your normal windows,
and you figure out it is not related to any registry setting, not related to os setting...

than your usb stick locked,
I had such problem with 1 usb stick + 1 ssd (both sandisk, I do not buy sandisk since than.... ), which could never get writable again.

That is all ideas from me....

I leave Further support to others, whoever interested.

The 1st picture is from my host operating system that assigns the USB as F:\
The USB drive is not read only in the host operating system, just in WinPE
The USB driver that is USB3 doesn't load because laptop doesn't have a USB3.

Il try another usb thumb drive other than my ativa thumb drive and it worked perfect.
I thought it would be something simple.      :scooter:

Tried another USB
another USB !!
another usb Flash disk ??
another usb port ??

If flash disk,
well, I advice you do same with "ativa thumb drive" with things you do on your "other usb flash drive",
to be sure if it is "ativa thumb drive" related or not.
