Hello Experts..

I am a great fan of WinSEPE10. But I am a Visually Impaired person and unable to see computer screen in white mode. I can just manage to operate PC by using 'High Contrast Black' theme in Full Windows 10 OS.
i have to use WinPE10 for repairs and install purposes. I want to make a WinPE10 which will have 'High Contrast Black' theme as default theme. So that I can enjoy this project without further damaging my eyes.

Please teach me how i can add 'High Contrast Black' theme as default in any WinPE10 ? A step by step guide will be very useful if it is possible ?

Thanks & Regards...

Add the full \Windows\Resources folder from install.wim to your WinPE.
Than apply this reg file.

Code: [Select]

Thanks JFX for your quick reply...
Can I just extract only 'hcblack.theme' file within from 'install.wim' or C: Drive of any system instead of full 'Resources' folder ? I know It is just just 3.33MB. I want to just know if other files will also be use or not ?

"\WINDOWS\resources\Ease of Access Themes\\hcblack.theme"

You mean I should first boot to any WinPE. And then copy "\WINDOWS\resources\Ease of Access Themes\\hcblack.theme" theme to "X:\WINDOWS\resources\Ease of Access Themes\\hcblack.theme".
And then just run your 'HCTheme.reg' within from WinPE Environment ? Will this registry make 'High Contrast Theme' as default theme permanently. Will I be able to see 'High Contrast' theme every time when I boot to that WinPE ?

Will I also be able to use "ALT+SHIFT+PRNT SCRN" shortcut to toggle between 'High Contrast Black' and normal theme ?

Thanks & Regards..

No, you don't do this from a running PE, all the steps must be done "offline" into your PE file (boot.wim). I guess that's another thing for you to learn? (There's another few interesting things there).
You can't do it in a running PE, because the system needs to "reset" after the changes, and there's no way to "reset" a PE...

If you don't want to bother making a script for a builder, you *could* do it by using a quick solution like using the Wimlib "inject" method, but that's a whole 'nother can of worns :-)

Anyway, interesting to see that solution, JFX, thank you!!

You are right Sir, I know very little about WinPE customization and want to learn more about WinPE building methods/tips-tweaks. Can you please provide me some good pages so that I can just learn basic steps without any confusion with my low IQ ? I know you guys are very expert in these fields. Will be very useful if you provide me required lessons to learn all about WinPE.

Any related topic/pages about Wimlib "inject" method will be very NICE...

Thnks you sir for your great help and support...

First try to get it working and copy the complete folder.

After you create a Win10PESE you have a folder: Target\Win10PESE
--> There you can modify your PE like coping or adding file.

In Win10PESE you also have tool Plugin called Utils\RegEdit.
--> This will help you making changes to the PE registry.

If you are done use "Create new Target Image and ISO" button in Finals\PostConfig Plugin.

Thanks 'JFX' and 'Lancelot' for providing 'High Contrast Black' plugin.

I have made a Win10PESE with 'High Contrast Black' plugin. It works in 'File Explorer' and in 'Mozilla Firefox' too..But when I open 'All Apps' in Start Menu then It show white All App Menus ? And Apps folder does not show properly. AFAIK, In 'High Contrast Black' theme, Start Menu should also be in Black mode ??

'ALT+SHIFT+PRNT SCRN' does not allow to switch between default 'High Contrast Black' and 'Normal Win 10 Theme' ?? It will be very nice if 'High Contrast Theme' will be as a default theme when I boot to WinPE. But there should be an option to switch to normal Win 10 Theme by choosing any other theme in 'Personaiize' settings ?

Is it possible so that 'ALT+SHIFT+PRNT SCRN' will work exactly the same way it work in full OS ?

Thanks & Regards...

Try StartIsback instead of Start10.
