Hello,

I'm a user of Drive Image XML and I've been attempting
to make a Win 10 PE Bootable CD and I'm running into problems!

I have Unzipped the Win 10PE_2017_02_02 to
C:\Win 10 PE folder then clicked on BuilderSE
to launch the program.

I didn't have an actual Windows 10 Installation
CD so I used the Microsoft Media Creation Tool
to download the Windows 10 Installation ISO
file. I then mounted this ISO file and copied
the Installation files into a folder I created
"Windows 10 Installation Files" into
C:\Win 10 PE folder. These files are below:

Folders:
boot
efi
sources
support

Files
autorun
bootmgr
bootmgr.efi
setup (Application)

Under the Source tab_Paths_Source Directory (%SourceDir%)
I clicked on the folder Icon under Source Directory and in the
box it has "%BaseDir%\Windows 10 Installation Files.

I then clicked the blue "Play Button" to start making the bootable
CD and when it gets to the point of Plugin 3/55 "Image Tools
and Information Plugin_Messages_ExtractWIMFolder=NO the
creation process stops and an Error BOx appears with:

For Windows ESD Source (LZMS compression), you must use extracted wim folders.
You can use for this 'Extract Wim Folders' in Urils folder.

So I opened the Utils folder and right clicked on the 'Extract Wim Folders'
and clicked 'Run this Script' then tried to make the boot CD again but
the same Error message appeared!

So at this point I can't go any  further in creating a Win 10 PE
Bootable CD to use with Drive Image XML and I don't know what
else to do.

I hope someone can help me with this.

Thanks for your time and help!

Sincerely,

John Eline

Hi Atari800xl,

I downloaded the Win10_1607_English_x64 and was able to create a WinPESE boot disk. I'll be
using this boot disk with DriveImage XML (Runtime Software). They have a Plugin
available that can be used with the WinBuilder Software. It's called "Runtime_Software_All.Script plugin".
How can I add this plugin to the WimPE SE Boot Disk?

I noticed after creating the WinPE SE Boot Disk there was a Win10PESE ISO that was created. It's
file size is 697 MB. Also there were files created in the "Target\Win10PESE folder. The file size there
is 1.44 GB. Why is there such a big difference there? Are there important files missing in the
Win10PESE ISO?

Once I know how to add the RunTime Software Plugin, this plugin will have to be added in the
WinBuilder software before creating a Win10PESE Boot Disk. Am I correct on this? If so I
will have to create another boot disk.

When I transfer the Boot Disk files, I'll be using a DVD Rewritable disk (size 4.7GB). When transferring these
files, do I use the Win10PESE ISO or copy the files from the "Target\Win10PESE" folder. I haven't
tried booting to the ISO files yet. Who knows maybe this ISO files won't boot correctly! I'm
a little unsure about using the ISO files because it's so much smaller than than the Target folder!!

Thanks again for your time and help!

Sincerely,

John Eline

Once I know how to add the RunTime Software Plugin
plugin available on server
Downloads\AppYGS\HD Tasks\Runtime Software All
Downloads\AppYGS\HD Tasks\Runtime Software All - File

download both plugin

See tutorial :
http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1208.0

:turtle:

edit:
There are also separate RunTime plugins available
ex:
Downloads\AppYGS\HD Tasks\Imaging\DriveImage XML (Private Edition)

Hi Jeline
on the runtime website, under the products/downloads heading on the very bottom of the page there's
a WinPE Plugin section, if you click on 'more info' it takes you to a step by step run-thro of using their
plugin with winbuilder
you can also find  Lancelots better adaptation of that plugin already on this site via
http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1929.msg21679#msg21679  link

oop's just seen the previous post Lancelot got there before me
