Just imagine 2aCD's excellent script running TIH 2014 Premium, which means TIH 2014 Premium PE within Win8PESE (my testing scenario).
Currently it's merely a proof of concept, let's see what 2aCD will say about it.

Mikka, just did a test on your alpha version of the 2014 script. Looks like it's working quite nicely!! Haven't tested on GPT yet though. I'm very interested to read the experience others have had with GPT backups. I know TrueImage 2014 and Macrium can do it (haven't tested either myself). What about Aomei Backupper (which by the way also has a great PE script by Aeolis).
Thanks!!!!

Hi friends,

update is now available.
The new script supports Acronis TrueImage Home 2012-2014 on x86 and x64
For Version 2012-2013 you need the PlusPack and for 2014 the Premium-Version of Acronis TreuImage Home.

Special thanks to Mikka for his preparatory work!!

You can test this Version now.

Best regards
2aCD

Thank you 2aCD! I tested Mikka's prerelease, and it's working fine! Im looking forward to trying your "official" version!
I noticed you have updated the 64bit driverfiles as well? (fltsrv.sys, snapaip.dll, snapman.sys). Thanks!
I did some tests (Mikka testversion, 32bit) with only those 3 driver files in the build, starting the (other) program files from a completely "portable" location (USB, etc). With the 2014 driver files, I can start both 2013 and 2014, nice... (don't have an English 2014 yet, can't find the WinPE.zip in some versions).
2aCD, please let us know if you've tested with 64bit, GPT, SecureBoot etc. I can't test this myself, but I would really like to know if there are any special things to consider there...
Thanks for your great scripts, and of course thanks to Mikka for his prepping!!!!

Hi Atari800xl, hi ChrisR,

GPT volumes are now recognized (also in x64) and can be backed up. I have tested this.

Sorry for the long offline-time, but I very much and long time to do here in the company, so I rarely even at home to do for Winpe. But I'll update as gradually the scripts.

Bonjour mortblanche et bienvenue
Il me semble que j'ai déjà croisé ton pseudo, je ne sais pas où.
Merci pour ton retour.

Not always easy to find time between occupation and obligations.
And WinPe is only an interesting and rewarding hobby.
But again, always nice to see you, even only occasionally

To my great dismay, I'm facing severe problems with TIH 2014 Premium currently.

I don't know yet what went wrong (and when exactly), but after a series of (successfully validated) images done for a fresh Windows 8.1 installation on a new Inspiron notebook system, it turned out that with each image made TIH corrupts the system further. (Getting working images is rather a matter of luck.)
I'm searching for a backup state 0 with the minimum damage level to be restored and an alternative backup program that handles current sata controllers/SSDs and if possible both MBR and GPT.

I haven't ever experienced such a messserious problems with Acronis' products and I'm deeply disappointed...

Any good alternatives, ideas please?

That's really bad, when an imager doesn't produce 100% perfect backups, the whole point of using them is lost of course. I hope we'll find the problem soon, things like this can really drive you nuts!!!

Hi Mikka,
I can't reproduce your problems. I have execute a complete backup from all partitions and restore it to another HD without errors.
It's a Win8.1-system. After restore on a new HD it boot correct without problems.
I have currently test with mbr-partitions.

I'm dealing with a recent Inspiron (UEFI/SecureBoot, although switched to Legacy mode/MBR) in conjunction with W8.1 Pro.
I also read unpleasant things about concurrent products as well when it comes to GPT, UEFI and, of course: Windows 8.1.

I don't know what Microsoft actually did (hybrid boot..?) that confuses current backup solutions.

Now I have often backed up and restored the same HD.
And at last I run chkdsk on the volume. The result: no errors.

I use Acronis on Win8PE and the backed up System is Win 8.1. (Dell Precision, a little bit old)
At next week I'll another test with a new Laptop.

2aCD, hopefully it stays this way! I began to notice that something went wrong after having done a couple of images already. Don't expect it to become snafu all at once -- even at the end sporadically there were image states that could be considered as presumably okay. However, it's kind of Russian roulette, I simply cannot trust TIH14 any more.

I finally used Macrium Reflect Free to finish the system.
Thanks for another splendid script, btw.

Hi Mikka,

I understand that this is really confusing if you (we) can not trust TIH 2014.
Did you make a return to Acronis, to know what they say.
This is really disturbing for a product widely used

Good point, but as I had to hand over the system last weekend, I don't have the possibility to make further tests...
Acronis should know about that bug for at least a year now, as there were reports of people about TIH13 already.
And unless I'm mistaken, Acronis doesn't give a damn (as they're making their money anyway).
Keeping that in mind, I did well reverting to Macrium Reflect Free, I guess.

Acronis was for me a leading provider of physical, virtual and cloud backup solutions with flawless quality.
I am a little disappointed but It is good to know he has his faults too, and to be informed by those who use it more frequently.
Then, we continue with it or not, knowingly.
Merci pour ton retour Mikka

I have seen these Restore Errors, but only if all the Acronis Windows Services was not running, and once caused by installing an older DiskDirector after the TrueImage installation.

PS. I only use the x86 builds of  WinPE7SE & Winpe8.1SE, and always disable UEFI BIOS (yes UEFI boots faster but is not more secure, just a pain in the B**)

Thank you NFT for your info.
You said you had errors only "if all the services were not running", could you elaborate a bit on that?
If we use a2CD's script (which loads snapapi.dll, snapman.sys and fltsrv.sys), is that enough, or are there other services (or other things) to consider?
Thanks!
